In 1996, Myanmar Makro commenced operations by importing canned fish from abroad and distributing it to the local market, marking the beginning of our journey.
Establishing Myanmar's first privately-owned canning factory
In 1997, we successfully established our own canned food factory in Thaketa Township, Yangon. This stood as a significant milestone in the history of private canned fish production in Myanmar.
Expanding beyond canned goods to sauce production
In 1998, we expanded our manufacturing capabilities to include sauces. We secured the rights to produce the Thai brands MAEJIN Sauce and Tom Yum Paste, allowing us to manufacture and distribute these products locally using our own facilities.
The birth of the BRAVO brand
In 1999, we launched BRAVO as our own proprietary brand. We advanced our local chili sauce production capabilities and successfully distributed the BRAVO brand throughout Myanmar.
The birth of the READY brand
Marking a proud moment for the Myanmar food industry, we established and launched our own proprietary canned food brand, READY.
Introducing easy-open lids
Driven by a desire to provide convenience to our customers, Myanmar Makro introduced "Easy Open" lids for our canned products. This innovation meant customers could enjoy our food instantly without needing a can opener.
Authentic tastes of Myanmar and neighboring countries
We expanded the READY line to include meat curries tailored to local preferences. We began producing beef stew, chicken curry, roasted duck, and Carp fish curry. To better serve Upper Myanmar, we opened a branch office in Amarapura Township, Mandalay, significantly expanding our distribution network.
The "Kitchen of Myanmar" expands its reach
In 2008, we aimed to penetrate the Asian market with the READY brand, positioning ourselves as the "Kitchen of Myanmar." We continued to produce a wide variety of authentic dishes that were embraced not only by Myanmar expatriates but also by international consumers.
Expanding distribution to Central Myanmar
To ensure our products were accessible everywhere, we opened a branch in Meiktila. This allowed us to distribute our products effectively to towns and villages across Central Myanmar.
Opening the Myeik Factory
After years of steady growth, we established a new factory in Myeik. This facility was built to support large-scale production for export markets, marking another major milestone in our manufacturing history.
Time-saving dishes for busy households
With a sincere commitment to saving families time, the READY brand launched new dishes in 2020, including Pea & Chicken Curry and Kachin-Style Bamboo Shoot & Chicken. We also introduced "Chetty" Chicken Curry and Steamed Sardines (Shwe Sin) to our lineup.
Expanding to E-commerce and International Markets
In 2021, we opened branches in Taunggyi and Lashio to cover the Shan State market. We also expanded into E-commerce and Online Sales Channels, offering home delivery services.

Our READY canned fish and curries are produced using fresh raw materials and modern machinery in a hygienic environment, suitable for people of all religions and backgrounds. In 2022, we proudly received the ISO 22000:2018 certification, cementing the quality and safety of the READY brand.
